Terms & Conditions
The small print behind every booking — deposits, cancellations, patch tests and what happens if something isn't right.
Last updated: 10 September 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to every appointment, course, gift voucher and product you book or buy from Halton Hair & Beauty ("we", "us", "our"), 1 Cross Green Lane, Halton, Leeds LS15 7SR — in the salon, by phone, by message or through this website.
By booking with us you agree to these terms, so please read them before you book. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Questions? Email hello@haltonhairbeauty.co.uk or call 0113 000 0000.
Booking your appointment
- You can book in the salon, by phone, by WhatsApp or through our website enquiry form. An appointment is confirmed once we have replied to confirm the date and time (and taken any deposit due).
- Please give us accurate contact details so we can send confirmations and reminders, and let us know about any changes.
- Appointment times include your consultation, the treatment itself and aftercare advice, so the time "in the chair" may be slightly shorter than the time booked.
- A website enquiry is a request, not a confirmed booking — we'll contact you to agree a time.
Deposits & payment
- New clients and appointments of £50 or more (or longer than 90 minutes) require a deposit of 25% of the treatment price to secure the booking. Colour correction, lash extension full sets and micro-needling require a 50% deposit.
- Your deposit is deducted from the final price on the day. It is refunded in full if you cancel or rearrange within the notice periods below.
- Prices on our website are a guide. The final price is confirmed at consultation — for example, extra product may be needed for long or thick hair — and we will always tell you before we start if the price will differ.
- We may change our prices from time to time, but the price confirmed when you booked will be honoured.
- Payment is due at the end of your appointment. We accept card, contactless and cash.
Cancelling or changing your appointment
We're a small studio, and a late cancellation is a slot another client could have had. We ask for:
- 48 hours' notice to cancel or move most appointments.
- 72 hours' notice for appointments of two hours or more, colour correction, full lash sets and advanced skin treatments.
If you give the required notice, there is no charge and any deposit is refunded or moved to your new appointment. If you give less notice:
- any deposit paid may be kept; or, where no deposit was taken, we may charge up to 50% of the treatment price;
- if you don't attend without telling us (a "no-show"), we may charge up to 50% of the treatment price and ask for full payment in advance for future bookings.
We will always try to re-fill a cancelled slot, and if we do we won't charge you. We also understand that emergencies and illness happen — just talk to us, and we'll use discretion.
Booking online or by phone — your 14-day right to cancel
If you book without visiting the salon, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you 14 days to change your mind. If you ask for your appointment to take place within those 14 days, you agree that the cancellation periods above apply instead, and if you cancel after the treatment has started you will pay for the part already provided.
Late arrival
- Please arrive 5–10 minutes early, especially for your first visit or treatments that need a consultation form.
- If you're running late, call or message us. We'll do as much as we can in the time left, but we may need to shorten your treatment so the next client isn't kept waiting — the full price still applies.
- If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to treat you safely in the remaining time. This will be treated as a late cancellation.
Patch tests & consultations
Your safety comes first, so the following need a patch or skin-sensitivity test at least 48 hours before your appointment:
- hair colour (new clients, or if it has been more than six months since your last colour with us);
- lash and brow tinting, lash lifts and lash extensions;
- chemical peels, micro-needling and other advanced skin treatments.
Patch tests are free and take a few minutes — pop in during opening hours. If you haven't had one, we won't be able to carry out the treatment; where that's because you didn't come in for the test, it will be treated as a late cancellation. If a patch test shows a reaction, there is no charge and we'll suggest an alternative.
Advanced skin treatments also require a consultation beforehand, and in some cases a course of preparatory homecare.
Health, medical conditions & pregnancy
- You must tell us, when you book and on your consultation form, about any medical conditions, allergies, medication (including skincare such as retinoids), recent sun exposure, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Some conditions mean a treatment isn't safe or needs to be adapted. We may refuse or postpone a treatment if we believe it isn't suitable — that decision is final and made for your wellbeing.
- If we can't go ahead for a reason you couldn't have known about, there is no charge. If it's because information wasn't given to us, it may be treated as a late cancellation.
- We cannot be responsible for reactions or results caused by information that wasn't disclosed.
Age restrictions
- Clients aged 16 or 17 need a parent or guardian to sign the consultation form, and to be present for the appointment.
- Intimate waxing, lash extensions, chemical peels and micro-needling are only available to clients aged 18 and over.
- Children under 16 may have hair services with a parent or guardian present. Children who aren't being treated are welcome if supervised at all times, but please remember the salon is a relaxing space for other clients.
If we need to cancel
Very occasionally we may have to cancel or move an appointment, for example because of therapist illness or an emergency. We'll give you as much notice as we can and offer another time or another suitably qualified therapist. If neither suits you, any deposit or prepayment will be refunded in full.
If you're not happy
We want you to love your results. If something isn't right, please tell us as soon as possible:
- Hair — within 7 days;
- Nails, lashes and brows — within 72 hours;
- Skin treatments — within 7 days, or straight away if you have any unexpected reaction.
We'll ask you to come back in so we can see the issue, and where the treatment wasn't carried out with reasonable care and skill we will put it right free of charge. If that isn't possible, or doesn't fix the problem, you are entitled to an appropriate price reduction or refund, as set out in the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We can't offer a free correction for issues caused by not following aftercare advice, by damage after you've left the salon (for example a broken nail or lashes lost through rubbing), or where you've had the work altered elsewhere. Results can vary from person to person, and some treatments work best as a course.
Courses & packages
- Courses are paid for in full in advance and must be used within 12 months of purchase.
- Courses are personal to you and cannot be transferred to someone else without our agreement.
- The cancellation terms above apply to each session. A session cancelled without notice, or missed, may be deducted from your course.
- If you can't finish a course for medical reasons, we'll refund the unused sessions at the full single-session price, deducted from what you paid.
Gift vouchers
- Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, with the expiry date shown on the voucher.
- They can be used towards any treatment or product. Any unused balance stays on the voucher until it expires. Vouchers can't be exchanged for cash.
- Please bring your voucher, or its code, to your appointment. If a voucher is lost, we'll replace it if we can confirm the purchase.
- Vouchers bought online can be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days, provided they haven't been used.
- Deposits and cancellation terms apply to appointments booked with a voucher in the same way as any other booking.
Retail products
- If a product is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund, or after that for a repair, replacement or partial refund, in line with your statutory rights.
- For hygiene reasons we can't accept returns of opened products you've simply changed your mind about. Unopened products can be exchanged within 14 days with proof of purchase.
- Products bought online can be returned unopened within 14 days of delivery for a full refund.
- If you have a reaction to a product, stop using it and let us know straight away.
In the salon
- Please keep your personal belongings with you. We can't accept responsibility for loss or damage to items brought into the salon, except where caused by our negligence.
- Some products can mark clothing — wear something comfortable and not too precious for colour and tinting.
- Please keep mobile phones on silent in treatment rooms.
- We have a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour towards our team or other clients, and may refuse service or ask you to leave.
- Before-and-after photos are only taken or shared with your permission — see our Privacy Policy.
Using our website
- We work hard to keep information on this website accurate, but treatments, prices and opening hours can change. Please check with us before relying on them.
- If you create an account, keep your password safe and let us know if you think someone else has accessed it.
- Content on this website, including text, photographs and our logo, belongs to us or is used with permission and may not be copied without our consent.

Our liability
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Complaints & governing law
If you have a complaint, please speak to us in the salon, call 0113 000 0000 or email hello@haltonhairbeauty.co.uk. We'll acknowledge it promptly and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you book is the one that applies to your appointment.
